The news transformed his life. He now lives in a well-appointed house in the centre of Amsterdam and is using his new found wealth to help other homeless people.
Jerry's childhood was traumatic. When his mother developed a brain tumour he was sent to live with the man he thought was his father.
Jerry had a very difficult relationship with his new family. He ended up being taken into care.
For the next 5 years he was shifted from one home to another. He slowly drifted into petty crime and drugs.
It was after a family argument that he found out that the man who he believed to be his father, was not. Jerry then set out to try and find his real father. He discovered that his mother had been having an affair at work. The clues led him to the director of the company, Alfred Winkler. He was a very wealthy businessman who had died leaving no heirs.People who had known him talked about an uncanny resemblance.
Jerry then took a DNA test. The results showed a 99.999% certainty that he was Alfred Winkler's son.
His life then changed dramatically. Jerry has now set up a foundation to help other young homeless people.
What do you think is going to happen when you give a homeless drug addict millions of dollars? We'll have to wait and see, but I doubt it's going to turn out very good. I saw "Trading Places." When the Duke's pulled Eddie Murphy off of the streets and gave him the mansion and all that money, what's the first thing he did? He went to the bar and started throwing around money and picking up sluts. Then he brought the whole party back to his house. Eddie kicked them all out after a while, but that was a movie and he had Coleman keeping a eye on things. In reality, there is no Coleman and nobody is going to leave. This guy is going to party his ass off with his bum cronies until he dies or runs out of cash, whichever comes first. I'll bet anybody this is the way the story ends. Actually, that would be a pretty good movie.
thats what happens to a lot of lotto winner, get let it all slip through their hands. then they are just back to squar one.
