Viewer's Guide To This Weekends Sports
Great weekend of sports right now. Just fantastic from start to finish. And it's getting a little cloudy so I'm not going outside. Here's the games to check out:
1.) Bruins vs. Lightning Saturday night 8:00 PM on VS:
Finally! How fucking long has it been since the Bruins have played and I don't even really give a shit about hockey! The thing that I don't get is that it's not like the Lightning were in a 7 game series that lasted forever, they were done a week ago too. NHL is stupid. Capitalize on the momentum! Whatever, this should be a great series. The lightning feature one of the best players in the NHL in UVM's own Martin St. Louis facing off against his Catamount counterpart Tim Thomas, simply the best goalie in the playoffs. Overall, just like against the Canadiens and the Flyers, the Bruins are the more physical team and they should batter the smaller lightning into submission in a long series.
2.) Red Sox - Yankees Saturday 7:10 PM:
Big E always trys to sound tough writing about how boring baseball is, but Yankees-Red Sox is always entertaining and Clay Bucholz looked sharp as a tack last night defeating the Yanks 5-4 in New York. Adrian Gonzalez also might be the best hitter I've ever seen. It really reminds me of Manny in his prime. I didn't know what all the fuss was about earlier in the year but my god. When he's at bat you stop what you're doing and you watch him, because chances are something is going to happen, just like when Manny used to come to the plate with syringes hanging out of his ass and hit 600 feet home runs.
3.) Memphis Grizzlies - Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday 3:30 PM:
My new favorite team the Memphis Grizzlies looked amazing last night. Zach Randolph was literally unstoppable in the second half. They seriously couldn't stop him. Kevin Durant looked like shit too, he can't handle Tony Allen's defense. He gave up in the second half and took probably 18 three pointers and made two of them. I don't know why I just like everything about this Grizzlies team. It's a bunch of guys who were written off by other teams. Randolph, Tony Allen, Marc Gasol. And O.J Mayo is one of the sneaky most exciting players in the league. Conley has developed into a very respectable if not spectacular point guard. Aside from all that, how can you not root for the 8 seed? How can you not!?! Go Grizz!
